Recently, I have composed two anthems for the Real Madrid Official Choir, “Coro de la Afición Blanca” which are about to be premiered by this choir and a symphonic orchestra.

Andrés Martín Herranz (Soria, 1995) is a Spanish composer specialised in film music. After finishing his elementary studies of violonchelo in the Professional Conservatories of Soria and Salamanca he was admitted in “Musikene”, the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country, Spain, where he studied Composition with Gabriel Erkoreka, Ramón Lazkano and Stefano Scarani as his main professors. During his third year of studies he was awarded an Erasmus Scholarship and he moved to Budapest, Hungary for a whole academic course to continue his Composition Bachelor in the rewarded Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, the place where composers such as Béla Bartók and György Ligeti studied before. Among his main professors in Budapest it is worth noting Adam Balázs, an Oscar winner and Bella Máté, who was a recent collaborator of the InterContemporain Ensemble of Paris. Furthermore, Andrés has participated as an active student in numerous Masterclasses and workshops of a large number of acclaimed composers like Helmut Lachenmann, Toshio Hosokawa, Krzysztof Penderecki or Péter Eötvös, among others. To enrich his musical training, Andrés is currently studying a Master of Musical Teaching at the International University of Valencia, Spain.

Andrés’ compositional style is characterized by a constant search for narrative forms and a poetic contrast in his personal timbre-harmonic language. In this sense, the concepts of linear time variation and spectral expressivity take a huge relevance in his last works.

Regarding his professional experience, he has premiered multiple instrumental and vocal pieces, collaborating in several times with the professional ensemble “Camerata Clásica Antonio Machado” and conducting his own works around several towns of Spain and Hungary. He has also composed the soundtracks of two different short-films: “Hasiera”, premiered during the San Sebastian Film Festival in 2016 and “La voz de la escalera”, premiered at the Soria International Short-Film Festival in 2018. In 2016, he was selected to participate in the Carmelo Bernaola Festival in Vitoria with his electronic piece “Human Behaviors about Electronic Water”, after which he was awarded a scholarship from the SGAE Foundation that recognises his professional and academic merits as an emerging composer. In 2017, he was commissioned by the Provincial Council of Soria to compose an one-hour-duration dramatical piece for orchestra, choir, 20 percussionists and actors conducted by the acclaimed Spanish conductor Miguel Romea. In 2018, the Bilbao Symphonic Orchestra (BOS) conducted by Arturo Tamayo recorded his piece “Injertos tectónicos”. Moreover, his work “A Muarte”, for baritone saxophone and live video-electronics was premiered at the Festival “Quincena Musical” of San Sebastián, Spain. During the last year, he has been commissioned to compose two anthems for the official choir of the Real Madrid Football Team, “Coro de la Afición Blanca” which are about to be premiered, accompanied by a symphonic orchestra.
